Dress
In general during the workshop, dress will be casual. No formal workshop events are planned. Please wear attire appropriate to be out in the field. For safety purposes, closed shoes will be required unless otherwise approved. Personal protective equipment will be provided as necessary. Other items you are advised to pack:
- Rain gear (we will be doing all activities rain or shine),
- A hat,
- Sunglasses
- Sun block
- Hand Sanitizer
- Mosquito repellant
- A water bottle
- Face Masks are optional
Travel
Travel arrangements to and from Davenport, Iowa are the responsibility of participants. Cost of travel by air or through mileage reimbursement will be paid by National PETE up to a maximum of $720.00 and $300 for car rental. Applicants are responsible for their airfare purchase even if they must withdraw from the Institute and cancel or change flights.
Lodging
During the Institute, everyone, unless other arrangements are approved by NPETE, will stay at the Home2 Suites by Hilton, 975 Utica Ridge Place, Bettendorf, IA 52722 PH: 563-345-1130. Each participant will be provided their own room. National PETE will make hotel reservations for you, and hotel room and tax will be billed to the National PETE master account. However, you will need a credit card to secure your room at registration, and to cover all other incidentals (for which you are responsible – National PETE will not cover any incidentals). Reservation codes will be provided to each Participant individually. Upon approval please coordinate with Hilary Kesseler, NPETE at hkesseler@nationalpete.org with your arrival/departure dates. **Note accepted participants are expected to Arrive the Sunday prior to the start date, with the course ending Saturday.
Payment for lodging outside of the workshop timeframe or for non-participating companions will be the responsibility of the participant.
Meals
A registration fee of $50 is charged to participants (reimbursed on travel forms) to cover cost of snacks and beverages during training. This includes one on site lunch provided. All other meals, including those during travel, will be reimbursed on a per diem basis. Participants will need to submit a reimbursement form no later than 30 days following the end of the Institute. These will be provided at the Institute.
