International Programs

International Partnerships
PETE has developed several international partnerships with universities in Mexico, Thailand, and the Middle East over the years. The PETE approach is to train faculty and provide access to existing curricula and other instructional resources that assist in establishing and maintaining the institutional capability to deliver quality environmental educational and training programs.
Over this past year we have completed two such international programs. During 2004 PETE was a limited partner with the New State University-American University of Beirut (AUB) on a U.S. Information Agency (USIA) grant in which we provided networking links with the technical expertise of PETE member college energy programs.
This project was assisting AUB and partnering universities in the Middle East with the investigation the establishment of energy training centers. Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon conducted a energy auditor train-the-trainer workshop for this consortium during the summer of 2004.
